For Non-Emergency Medical Flights, you have the option to hire or not to hire a medical professional team and equipment. However, everything depends on the condition of the patient.
Most Air Ambulance Flights are only allowed by qualified operators engaged in air ambulance operations. Passengers who require medical personnel and equipment on an unscheduled charter flight must be performed under FAA Part 135 and comply with Part 135 subpart L regulations.
